The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The inspiration for the painting was blues and jazz titles, many of which incorporate the word "blue." Although it is abstract, there is a suggestion of a tree, clouds and water, and the addition of charcoal marks which suggest calligraphy or a musical score. Little pops of subtle orange-red soften the cool palette
About Jillian Goldberg
Artist Biography and Resume Jillian Zausmer Goldberg Born and raised in Cape Town South Africa, Jillian attended the Michaelis School of Art at the University of Cape Town. She studied art education under Stephen DeVilliers and taught private and public school art for children for over thirty years. Jillian founded the Gifted and Talented Development Center of Charlotte, North Carolina in 1984. Through innovative summer camps, art schools and outbound arts programming in the Charlotte and Triangle NC areas, the Center served thousands of children, many of whom returned to teach in the programs as adults in later years.
